Telangana Schools Reopening Date Revised for Academic Year 2026-27: Schools to Reopen on June 15, 2026
Hyderabad, June 7, 2026: The Director of School Education (DSE), Telangana, has officially revised the reopening date of schools for the academic year 2026-27. As per the latest proceedings issued by the School Education Department, all Government and Private Schools across Telangana will now reopen on 15 June 2026 instead of the previously scheduled date of 12 June 2026.
Why Was the School Reopening Date Changed?
According to the official orders issued by Dr. E. Naveen Nicolas, IAS, Director of School Education, Telangana, the Government received several representations from stakeholders requesting reconsideration of the reopening date.
Since 13 June 2026 falls on the Second Saturday and 14 June 2026 falls on a Sunday, the Government decided that reopening schools on 12 June would not be practical. Therefore, the reopening date has been postponed to 15 June 2026 (Monday).

Compensation for Lost Academic Days

to communicate the revised reopening schedule to all schools under their jurisdiction and ensure strict implementation.
